Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Car Arrest, Inc. ("Car Arrest," "we," "us") collects through this website, cararrest.com, and how we use it. It covers the website only. The Car Arrest app will have its own privacy policy when it launches.

The short version: If you join our waitlist, we keep your name, email and the optional details you give us so we can tell you when Car Arrest launches. If you book a call, Calendly, our scheduling provider, handles the booking. When you visit, we record basic, anonymous visit information, including your approximate city. We don't sell your information.

Information you give us

When you join the waitlist, we collect:

Your first name and email address
Optionally, your ZIP code and whether you use an iPhone or Android phone

When you book a call using the scheduler on our homepage, we receive your name, email address and anything you choose to tell us about the meeting.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit the site, we record one entry per visit with:

The page you visited and the website that referred you, if any
Campaign tags in the link you followed (for example, "utm_source"), if any
Your device type and operating system (for example, "Mobile · iOS")
Your approximate location (city, state or region, and country), estimated from your IP address. If that lookup fails, we record your device's time zone instead.

To estimate your location, your browser sends a request to a third-party lookup service (GeoJS, or ipapi.co as a backup), which sees your IP address in order to answer. We store only the resulting city, region and country, not your IP address. We don't ask your device for its precise location.

The site stores a small token in your browser's local storage so our forms can connect to our website provider, and it uses your browser's session storage to avoid counting the same visit twice. The call scheduler on our homepage is provided by Calendly and may set its own cookies when it loads. We don't use advertising cookies or ad trackers.

How we share information

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, and only for that purpose:

Wix.com, which hosts this site and stores waitlist and visit records
GeoJS and ipapi.co, which provide approximate location lookups
Calendly, which runs the call scheduler on our homepage and processes the details you enter there under its own privacy notice

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist information until Car Arrest launches in your area and for a reasonable period afterward, or until you ask us to delete it. We keep visit records only as long as they're useful for understanding site traffic.

Your choices

Unsubscribe: every email we send has a way to opt out, or you can just email us.
Access or delete: email us to request a copy of your information or to have it deleted. Depending on where you live (for example, California or other states with privacy laws), you may have additional rights, and we'll honor those requests.

Children

This site isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
